Streams
Worship.
We have a thriving team of musicians who are passionate about leading people into God’s presence, where lives are changed, and anything is possible. In the Worship stream you will gain practical, hands-on training and learn how to lead a worship team and a church congregation in worship. Throughout the year you will be involved in the process of organising teams, leading team nights, song writing sessions, putting set-lists together, running auditions, learning fundamental production skills, and leading worship across the three churches that make up our church family.
Kids & Youth.
In the Kids stream, you will be taking a lead in helping children aged 0-11 encounter God and develop a faith of their own. Our kids programme is built around the values of family, faith and fun. Working with our 0-25’s pastor, you will gain practical experience planning and leading sessions, putting on events for families, organising and co-ordinating teams, developing your teaching skills, learning how to prepare curriculum and resources, and a whole lot more.
In the Youth stream, you will work as part of a team seeking to serve young people, in school years 7-14, and to reach youth in the city with the message of Jesus. You will play a central role in bringing energy and ideas to the team, and will gain experience organising events, creating missional opportunities, mentoring young people, building bridges with nearby schools and colleges, and more.
Mission & Evangelism.
In the Mission and Evangelism stream, you will be taking a lead in helping the church to reach those who do not yet know Jesus. You will have the opportunity to craft the evangelistic year, organising missional and outreach events, and to play a central role in the planning and execution of high season events and services. You will be given exposure to and experience of missional activities taking place across the city, as well as those closer to home.
Creative.
Join a fledgling creative community of photographers, filmmakers, graphic designers, social media and website designers, and more. In the Media and Creative stream, you will be taking a lead in telling stories and reaching people with the message of Jesus through a range of communication methods. Your work plays a vital role in connecting together multiple other ministry areas.
Students.
Norwich is a thriving student city, playing host to almost 20,000 students who are studying at the University of East Anglia and Norwich University of the Arts. This presents a massive opportunity for mission, and in this stream you will work as part of a team seeking to serve students and reach them with the message of Jesus. The dream is to give every student an opportunity to encounter Jesus during their time at university, and to offer students a spiritual home from home. You will play a key part in bringing energy and ideas to the team, organising events, creating missional opportunities, mentoring students, investing in student leaders, delivering talks, hosting student nights, services and events, and building bridges with both universities.
Sports Factory.
Join the team of qualified sports and fitness coaches who follow Jesus and are passionate about playing sport. You will immediately play an active and vital role in reaching out to young people across our local schools, seeking at all times to make a positive impact in our local community, and to inspire, to invest and to train people in sports leadership. You will gain coaching experience and have the opportunity to gain a sports coaching qualification, while playing an active role in running holiday clubs, community events, sports coaching academies, social sport, detached sports outreach, activities with the football cage and working with disengaged young people. During the course of the year, you will see and experience sports ministry and its impact in both rural and urban areas, engaging with young people and families across Norfolk and beyond.
Production.
Encountering God is one of our core values, and one of the main ways that this is expressed is through worship. Our production team are as important as anyone on the stage, as they craft light and sound to lead people into an encounter with God. In the Production stream, you will gain practical, hands-on training and learn how to lead a production team, run Sunday services and special one-off and seasonal events. Throughout the year you will be involved in the process of organising teams, training volunteers, stage design, writing up equipment proposals, music production and more.
Social Transformation.
Reach out with God's love to those in our city who are living in poverty and experiencing deprivation. You will likewise have the opportunity to help us find other ways to join in with Gods' heart to make all things new. You will gain exposure to the reality of poverty in the city, a deeper understanding of how addressing such issues interfaces with our faith, and practical experience of working with church members, volunteers and partners while reaching out in friendship to those on the margins.
Operations & Administration
Operations makes everything we do as church possible! For the church to flourish we need healthy systems that help people to reach their fullest potential. In the Operations stream, you will be working alongside the clergy and administrative team to empower both ministries and people. The year will be varied and multifaceted, helping the church fulfil its broader mission to play our part in the evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the Church and the transformation of society. Gain hands on experience coordinating volunteers, managing systems and facilities, organising and putting on events, starting new initiatives, working with outside agencies, and more.
